MYANMAR TOY (PYIT TAING HTAUNG/ WEEBLE)

Pyit Taing Htaung is a traditional Burmese toy usually sold in pairs on the stairways of Pagodas all over Myanmar. It is made by Teak Wood. Pyit Taing Htaung means “that which always rights itself when thrown down.” because of the way the bottom-heavy toy always pops back up when it is pushed over.

This toy represents resilience, perseverance and the ability to pick oneself up or to never give up as important values of Myanmar culture. Pyit Taing Htaung make great souvenirs from a visit to Myanmar.
